Seven American Eskimos seized from puppy mill are doing very well
in our program ... Please donate to contribute to their care.

Oregon Dog Rescue has taken seven of the American Eskimos seized recently in Kennewick, WA into our program. As expected, the dogs need extensive rehabilitation, but they are making very good progress. They are walking on leashes, and we have begun to socialize them. We expect to be taking more dogs from this seizure into our program.

At right, you can see Isak, who is one of the dogs who has been with us for about a week now. These dogs will be available for adoption when they are physically and socially ready for loving homes. During the coming weeks, the dogs will be spayed/neutered, brought up-to-date on shots, wormed, flea treated and given any other necessary medical care. They will then spend time with us acquiring social skills. As with other dogs that have been in our care after coming from similar situations, they will be individually evaluated to determine when each is ready for adoption. Please watch our website for more photos and updates.

If you would like to make a donation for the care of these pets, please forward it to Oregon Dog Rescue, 17944 NW Gilbert Lane, Portland, Oregon, 97229. The contributions will be used to provide medical care and purchase supplies such as food, toys, bones and chew toys so they can begin to know what it is like to live with a loving family.

Oregon Dog Rescue is an all-breed, no-kill shelter. It is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization started by two dedicated women with twelve years of experience with rescue dogs. An all-volunteer group, Oregon Dog Rescue is devoted to placing the dogs in the best homes and assuring the long-term success of the adoption. We are available for follow-up care and for the lifetime of the pet. Our team includes a network of professionals who are available to assist with the well being of the animals.

The volunteers of Oregon Dog Rescue assess each incoming dog for medical and behavioral issues prior to placing them in homes. Each pet is wormed, flea-treated, spayed or neutered, and given necessary shots. Photos and descriptions of each dog are placed on our website which links into Petfinder.com. The dogs reside in foster homes during the week where training is continued. Weekly adoption events are held on Saturdays at the Tualatin Petsmart, except for an occasional off-site event.
