2014 Paws for a Cause
Walk and Raise Money for Pets in Need

Help us raise money for emergency veterinary care by joining "Paws for a Cause" sponsored by Paul Schatz Furniture. . On Sunday, Sept. 7th, we will meet at the Tualatin Petsmart, and begin our walk at 1:00 p.m. From there, we will walk to and around Brown's Ferry Park, and then return to our starting point. There are no streets to cross and no hills to climb, so the walk is family and dog-friendly. Please ask your friends, family, and other dog-lovers to support "Paws for a Cause" by making donations prior to the event to sponsor your walk. Cash and checks will be collected at registration. Please call Oregon Dog Rescue at 503-612-0111 if you have any questions. To print a sponsorship form, please click here.

2013 Paws for a Cause raises over $4,000

A dedicated group of walkers raised more than $4,000 for Oregon Dog Rescue's Emergency Veterinary Care Fund. About 50 dogs and their owners enjoyed a sunny Sunday afternoon walking from Petsmart in Tualatin to Browns Ferry Park and back. Thanks to all who helped and check back here for more photos and details of the event.

462 Dogs find their Forever Homes in 2012

Thanks to the hard work of staff, volunteers and donors, Oregon Dog Rescue was able to place 462 pooches in wonderful homes during 2012. As of April 1, 2013, 126 dogs have been matched with adopters this year. You can help us find families for even more doggies by donating to ODR (check, Paypal, by checking our Wish List on the donate page, or going to and typing Oregon Dog Rescue in the Wish List search) or volunteering. It is so gratifying to watch our pups leave our facility or Petsmart, knowing that they are headed for great adventures in their new homes.

Having our own building has been a great advantage for Oregon Dog Rescue. We can now greet potential adopters seven days a week. We have accumulated hundreds of volunteers, many of them regulars, who come to walk our residents. It is quite helpful for the dogs to get a daily walk. They get so excited when they see someone walking toward the playrooms with a leash! We also have a retail section that includes collars, leashes, dog beds, crates, bones, Kongs, toys, and clothes, among other things. All proceeds from our retail store are used to support Oregon Dog Rescue.
