Become a Fan of Castor & Pollux on Facebook and Feed a Hungry Dog!

Oregon Dog Rescue is partnering with Castor & Pollux Pet Works in an effort to provide natural and organic food to pets in need. If you go to the Castor & Pollux page on Facebook, you’ll find info about our adoption events, and also become part of a growing pet parent community. But there’s more. If you become a fan of their page, they’ll donate a kibble meal to Oregon Dog Rescue. Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to the Castor & Pollux page on Facebook (http://facebook.com/castorpolluxpet)
  2. Click the “like” button to be a fan.
  3. Send an email to facebook@castorpolluxpet.com. Put “Oregon Dog Rescue” in the subject line, and your name (as it appears on your Facebook account) in the body of the email.

Castor & Pollux will take care of the rest!

Another dog benefits from “Henry’s Fund”

henry
Chewbaca

My name is Chewbaca and I am a 1 1/2 year old male chocolate Lab. I swallowed a toy and my family could not afford the surgery. Oregon Dog Rescue agreed to take me in and use some funds in their "Henry's Fund" so I could have surgery to remove it.

It turned into quite an ordeal because the toy had perforated my intestines. I guess I pretty much wiped out the fund, but no one is complaining. I'm all better now and I'm ready for my new home, thanks to all the donations raised by Henry. New contributions can be made on our donation page.

I will be at the Nyberg Woods PetSmart in Tualatin (just east of the I-5 freeway) Saturdays 11:00 to 5:00 until I am adopted.

Generous Donors Enable ODR to Establish Emergency Fund

henry
Henry

ODR's donors responded so generously to Henry's story that ODR was able to pay for the procedures to restore his eyesight, and set up a fund for emergency and major veterinary care. ODR volunteer and Arbor school student Isabelle Owen also organized a walk-a-thon with ODR to raise money for the fund.

Henry can see again, and was recently adopted. Riley, who came to ODR with hip dysplasia, has also received necessary medical care and been adopted.

Read about ODR in the Canby Herald

Ray Hughey, a reporter for the Canby Herald and the photographer who has taken so many wonderful pictures of our dogs, describes his work with ODR in this December 1 article. Ray's work has been so important to creating a new website and effective materials for getting our message out. Thank you, Ray!

Thank you for visiting our website.

Visit our site often to find out about dogs up for adoption, learn about volunteer opportunities, get the latest on ODR events, and more!

We are an all-volunteer organization, so when you make a donation to ODR, you know that your money will be put toward the dogs in our care.

This website was developed by Maggie Kean, who created it (with help from the ODR crew) on a pro-bone-o basis. All of the photos on our website except those in the "Happy Tails" section, were taken by Ray Hughey.
