Volunteers are essential to the success of Oregon Dog Rescue. Whether potential volunteers have two or three hours on an occasional basis or wish to devote hours a week, there are many goals that need to be accomplished and many skills that are required.

On adoption days, people are needed to walk and socialize dogs, discuss our program, and help adopters shop for supplies for the new additions to their families. If you do not have a lot of experience with dogs but would like to get involved, you can work with one of our experienced volunteers until you feel ready to work more independently.

During the week, volunteer work may include walking and bathing dogs, running errands, helping with special events, making follow-up calls to check on dogs, and recordkeeping, among other tasks.

Oregon Dog Rescue is always looking for volunteers who have experience with fundraising, grant requests and computer skills. To learn more about volunteering for ODR, please email pennygrau.odr@comcast.net or call Penny at (503) 692-3572, or visit us on Saturdays at the Tualatin Petsmart between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
